Workshop terms and refunds

Deposit & Tuition


Enrolling in a workshop is a commitment from you that you will be joining a workshop. You reserve your space in the workshop by putting down a deposit. Youre non-refundable deposit is used to cover the initial expenses of setting up the workshop. 



The workshop cost is $1900. That includes personalized instruction, on location guidance, and post processing lessons + accommodation. 

A deposit of $500 reserves your space. Per the workshop cancelation policy, deposits are non-refundable. You will be invoiced for the remaining $1400 prior to the workshop. If you need a payment plan, contact me and I'll make arrangements.

Cancelled Workshops


If for any reason I am forced to cancel a workshop, your entire tuition will be applied to another workshop. Or, you can have it refunded to you in full. 

Travel Insurance


Stephen Butkus is not responsible for refunding any costs associated with travel, lodging or incidental losses incurred in the event of a workshop cancellation, or if you withdraw from the workshop for any reason. While I don't require you purchase travel insurance, it is recommended. World Nomads is one outfit where you can get an insurance quote.

Personal Emergencies


If you have a personal emergency such as a death in the family, please contact me immediately. I'm willing to work with you to reschedule you or refund your fee on a case-by-case basis.

Under Subscription


All workshops require a minimum number of students. In the event I don't reach the minimum, I'll likely still make the workshop happen. However, I do reserve the right to cancel the workshop in this situation. In this case, your tuition will be transferred to another workshop or a full refund will be given. 



Participants agree to join the workshop at their own risk and must sign a waiver of liability. (will be sent by mail prior to deposit) By its nature, outdoor photography has inherent risks. I’ll never lead you into an area that is unduly dangerous. If at any time during the workshop you don’t feel comfortable, certainly let me know.
