Self-reflective study – A series of Portraits.

During his 8-day stay locked inside a hotel room at The Thief hotel, photographer Stephen Butkus delved into the art of self-reflection. Beyond the lens and the external portrayal of his subjects, Stephen prompted them to explore their inner selves.

The project aimed to strip away the layers of clothing, facade, and self-consciousness, delving into the core of each individual's identity.

Through the process of self-reflection, the subjects were encouraged to confront and reveal aspects of themselves that extended beyond the superficial. Stephen sought to capture not just what the eye could see but the essence of each person — a raw and unfiltered portrayal that transcended the external trappings.
